Instead of rah-rah Pollyanna positive thinking and attitude, you remember the term “positive focus.” That is what I call it when someone a combination of enthusiasm and full of hope with the process forward through a series of incremental goals. In short, you must believe that every part of your strategy is really possible.
So, how do you go about developing a high purpose, and many smaller goals that will be necessary for you to reach all the way? Well, here are some suggestions that will help you get started:
• Is your current supervisor or mentor is important to your success in achieving your goals? Or will he an obstacle? If there are ways that you can convert itself into a useful resource, then what the first thing you can do to get on your side?
• Identify the key points in the transition from one set of goals you have developed. One of them may be moved from academia to industry, for example, and others can move from science to business. Divide your list of goals at each transition point and reflect on each sub-list in more detail. “Moving from academia to industry” may actually require you to reach smaller goals 15 different. And it never hurts more goal, every time you press one, you can celebrate!
• Make sure you a very easy target to measure. Although a great overview of the positions that the title and status of the future can be seen, there is no list of specific revenue beats that you want to achieve with a certain time. Apart from the fact that these goals will help you manage your mind, I heard from many people that they almost magical setting of a reality.
• Remember that a goal can not conflict with other objectives. For example, are not suitable to shoot for one million U.S. dollars homes in the Bay Area during the same period that you expect big salary realize.
